The Dark Knight late at night

In TV / Movies on July 24, 2008 at 11:05 am

I fell asleep. I’m sure it was a good movie. Everyone says so. But I am swearing off going to packed opening night movies really late at night and having to sit in the bottom 1/3 of the largest screened theatre at Metropolis, looking up at the screen with a crick in my neck because my glasses take away my peripheral vision… and hallucinating through the movie because there are some pretty freaky characters on the screen and i’m trying my darndest to stay awake…eventually losing the battle.

There. I said it. I don’t really remember much of the movie.

Sigh…if only life were like “Enchanted”

I’m getting married in 6 days. We watched “Enchanted” tonight, and wow! What a wonderful escape from real life. It’s all the best things about Disney movies combined into one lovely fun thing. Love, romance, an evil queen, and fantasy. Still love Amy Adams – she’s got this knack of creating wholly lovable characters who don’t know how to be negative (see junebug)

And then the movie finishes and real life returns. I’m still getting married in 6 days, and Steve is still sick. He’s in pain all the time, and on good days he can walk a little. Like to the car. I wish we knew what was wrong with him, but his appointment with the specialist isn’t until April 29th…3 days after the wedding.

I hope he gets better soon. It’s really hard to see him suffer like this. It’s almost impossible for him to get up and do stuff…like cook. And go to the washroom. And we’re trying a gluten free diet to see if that helps, so there’s not really a lot of stuff he can eat now.

You know, you never picture your wedding day to be one of great pain. But it probably will be.

And that is why i love Disney movies. Sometimes you really need that escape for even just a couple of hours.

Dear Evan Biddell…

…You are my hero du jour.  That said, I am such a big fan of internet tv. like, i watched the finale of Project Runway Canada (all 2 hours of it) on slice.ca. Fabulous. So i don’t have to run around the internet trying to track down something on youtube or goodness knows where just to watch it all. Now, if only CW network would let canadian viewers watch their shows online too. Honestly, whoever out there is opposing internet tv should really shut up and bite the bullet (writers excluded, because you need to get paid for your work, and that’s fair, so keep at the whole bargaining thing.) BECAUSE, would I have diligently watched project runway or ANTM on TV? No. Who has that kind of time? But i’ve been following it all online. So thanks to the people at the top (or maybe it was the web programmers trying out a new toy) who said that their websites should have full episodes.   As far as advertising goes, i see lots on slice.ca already, so it’s nice that the episodes don’t have them.
